From an untouched archipelago to a dream destination for luxury travelers: Since the Maldives was developed for tourism in the 1970s, the archipelago in the Indian Ocean has become the ultimate dream destination. White sandy beaches, lush flora and turquoise waters make up the unique beauty of the Maldives. Despite the upswing in tourism, the protection of this paradise has been consistently focused on. A combination of exclusivity and sustainability was created, and a new form of environmentally conscious luxury was born. Pioneering this development, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu opened in 1998 as one of the first luxury resorts in the Maldives. The hideaway in the Baa Atoll stands for what is now often described as "barefoot luxury". Between the palm trees and the ocean, the Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu feels like a tropical home away from home, where guests have the opportunity to completely switch off and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Last December, the resort of the Coco Collection group celebrated its 25th anniversary. The original charm of the island has been preserved to this day. As a family-run resort, Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu has a special atmosphere that not only embodies luxury and privacy, but also the true essence of the Maldives. The architectural style of the resort's almost 100 villas is also authentic. Pointed thatched roofs, open-air bathrooms and natural materials reflect the resort's roots in local traditions and its connection to nature. The charming Deluxe Villas have direct access to the beach and some also have a private pool. The Lagoon Villas are open-plan bungalows that seem to merge with the Indian Ocean. The resort's most exclusive gem also floats on stilts above the water: the Sunset Lagoon Villa combines a separate living area, a spacious bedroom and a bathroom with sea views. The terrace offers an unforgettable view of the Indian Ocean, while the private pool not only offers a view of the endless horizon, but also of the bottom of the lagoon through the glass floor.

The restaurants and bars of the Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu tempt you on an aromatic journey. The culinary meeting point of the island is the main restaurant Cowrie. The buffet offers colorful salads, authentic curries and tropical fruits, while local fish and the finest meat are grilled at several live cooking stations. Daily changing creations of Asian and international cuisine are freshly prepared in front of the guests. Dining in the Cornus Restaurant, a hotspot for lovers of Thai and Indian cuisine, is a little more hidden and intimate. The sunset is best admired at the Beach Bar with a cocktail in hand.

While the Coco Spa offers individually tailored treatments, the sporting activities on offer include diving, tennis and yoga. Unforgettable moments are celebrated with the Uniquely Coco Experiences; snorkeling with manta rays and dolphins or a picnic on a pristine island will create memories for life. Unique in the Maldives is the in-house turtle rescue center with veterinary care. Injured animals are cared for here by the resort's resident vet and volunteers. This is not the only reason why Coco Palm has already received several awards for its active commitment to nature and species conservation. It is the team's dedication to preserving a paradise and not least the warm, authentic hospitality that make Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu a unique retreat in the Maldives.
