Hotel Seevilla Altaussee
Box seat with lifestyle
Seevilla Altaussee has been a fixture in the local hotel industry for over 45 years. How did your takeover come about?
Alexander Gulewicz: Earlier than planned - out of a mixture of family responsibility and a deep sense of attachment to this hotel. My father became seriously ill, so we decided to take over the hotel back in 2010. Duty became a passion - and a way of life that still fulfills me today.
Ines Gulewicz: Our first son was born in the same year! It was a time full of challenges.
You are both "passionate hosts". What values are at the forefront? For us, hospitality means not only hosting people, but also giving them a sense of arrival, trust and genuine belonging. We have internalized the Aussee way of life: respect, appreciation, handshake quality, authenticity - these values are right for us and this is where we find ourselves. We want our guests to feel that the Seevilla is a place where history, culture and nature form a harmonious whole. We love building bridges: between people and the region, between tradition and modernity, between the past and the future. For us, hospitality is an attitude - and a matter close to our hearts that shapes our lives.
What does the hotel's motto "Box seat with lifestyle" mean to you personally - and how can it be experienced in everyday hotel life? For us, "Box seat with lifestyle" means offering our guests a place where they can combine the Altausseer See natural stage and our hotel with an atmosphere that is stylish, relaxed and yet deeply rooted. The lake is literally at our feet. Our guests have breakfast with a view of the Trisselwand, sit in the Brahms Café between history and modernity, relax on the lakeshore or enjoy cultural programs that are authentic and not staged. For us, lifestyle does not mean glamor - but quality, lightness, awareness and a feeling for the real thing.
At the Seevilla, you can let yourself go between water and mountains
How do you manage to incorporate this "lifestyle" into your guests' wellness experience? Our wellness area is designed in such a way that nature always remains the real protagonist. The panoramic sauna offers a direct view of the water, the mountains and the play of light on the lake. We deliberately avoid over-staging - tranquillity comes from clarity, natural materials and rooms that breathe. Many guests tell us that they don't just "relax" in the Seevilla, but take a deep breath and find peace. That is the greatest compliment for us.
Whether in the restaurant or in the Brahms Café, enjoyment is a top priority at the Seevilla and has received several awards from Falstaff. What do you attach particular importance to in your cuisine? Regionality, quality and honesty. Our cuisine bears the signature of the Ausseerland region - clear, high-quality, style-conscious. We work with selected producers, attach great importance to freshness and bring seasonal specialties to the plate.
The location directly on the lake naturally also shapes the cuisine: char, Aussee veal, regional herbs and vegetables. The special thing is the combination of taste and atmosphere: in our restaurant you don't just dine - you experience the lake, the history, the culture and a feeling of home.
When you think about the future - what do you wish for the Seevilla Altaussee
and for your guests? We hope that the Seevilla will continue to be what it is: a place where culture, nature and hospitality are alive. And for our guests, we hope that they will continue to find exactly what they are looking for here in the future: Peace, inspiration, culture, enjoyment - and a feeling of home.
