City and Mountain: A Relaxed Duo

At the Gloriette Guesthouse above Bolzano, relaxed luxury meets warm South Tyrolean hospitality.
As the sun rises over the Dolomites in the morning , the day begins quietly at the Gloriette Guesthouse: the clinking of dishes, the aroma of fresh coffee, the crisp air streaming through the large windows. Nestled in the gentle slopes above Bolzano, the house sits on a panoramic spot that naturally connects city and mountain, proximity and retreat. Below, the South Tyrolean capital beckons with its arcades; above, a tranquil landscape unfolds where you can realign your own rhythm. The cable car down to the valley is just a few steps away, a floating bridge between two worlds. In a few minutes, you’re right in the heart of Bolzano, strolling through elegant boutiques, sipping an aperitivo on Walther Square, and letting yourself be carried away by the Italian babble of voices. Later, when the mountain calls, hiking and biking trails lead out across meadows to the Rittner Horn, where the view opens wide and thoughts become simpler. Inside the guesthouse, this balance of lightness and comfort continues. With just 25 rooms and suites, the atmosphere remains intimate. Nothing is excessive; everything is thoughtfully chosen. Large windows bring nature right to your bed; warm wood tones, textiles in muted colors, and clean lines create an ambiance that feels more like a private home than a hotel. Relaxing and unwinding come easily, as every detail is designed to make settling in effortless.

Above the rooftops, the adults-only Rooftop Spa awaits —a small retreat high above, where the sky draws closer. A pool for floating, two saunas, and above all the view over the valley and the mountains offer quiet luxury that needs no grand gestures. As the water splashes softly and a glass of Bollicine bubbles in your hand, wellness becomes a moment of mindfulness, in which you feel yourself more clearly once again. Culinary-wise, the Gloriette tells the story of its surroundings: breakfast in the morning featuring fresh, regional products; in the evening, Alpine-Mediterranean cuisine at the Puro Restaurant , which brings South Tyrol and Italy together on the plate. The atmosphere remains casual yet meticulously curated—chic yet warm, with service that accompanies rather than merely serves. Sommelier Andi and his team select wines with a sure hand, opening bottles from the local area and beyond, adding another memorable touch to every evening.
