The Ritz-Carlton Sharm El Sheikh
For beach lovers
The best place to stay is right behind the expansive main pool in one of the 50 square meter Club Level Rooms or one of the spacious 150 square meter Red Sea Club Suites. These tastefully furnished rooms and suites offer an enchanting sea view from their own balcony or terrace, and guests staying here also have access to the Club Lounge, where snacks are served four times a day in addition to breakfast. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are also free of charge. However, children under the age of 12 are not admitted here. Families are therefore better off staying in the rear garden wing, especially as the kids' club and a huge pool with the "Lazy River" are also located there, where you can relax and float around.
In terms of size and facilities, the accommodation here is no worse than in the Club Level Rooms. Here, as there, four voluminous pillows are part of the basic equipment and you can enjoy a flat-screen TV and internet connection - the latter unfortunately for a fee. On the other hand, the coffee facilities are of course free of charge - and on request from the friendly room service, the room is generously stocked up. The large bathrooms only have a single washbasin, but a separate shower and bathtub. The toilet is also at least visually separated from the rest of the bathroom, but not airtight, and unfortunately there is no ventilation, which can make it difficult to use the bathroom at the same time.
Even the fluffy bathrobes and comfortable slippers in which you enter the spa, which offers an extensive wellness program, cannot make up for this. Next door, you can work out around the clock on state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Diving and snorkeling are also on the agenda. A jetty conveniently leads from the beach to the house reef, and the PADI diving center located on the hotel grounds also offers boat trips to more distant diving spots.
So much sport makes you hungry. With the exception of the Wave lunch restaurant, which is picturesquely situated between the pool and the beach, the restaurants are located in the main building. Culinary diversity is the name of the game with Italian, Arabic and Japanese cuisine. This usually works well. However, if something is not up to scratch, this is taken very seriously and the chef immediately storms out of the kitchen in person to make amends. The most authentic is of course the Arabic restaurant Fayrouz with really good live oriental music and entertaining belly dancing. If you like, you can then lounge in the comfortable open-air lounge and end the evening in true Egyptian style with a smoking shisha, a water pipe.
