W Rome
Good vibrations, top location and also close to the guest
The upper room is even more exciting - the wet deck with pool (only for splashing around, not swimming), colorful furniture, comfortable loungers, oleander, lemon and olive trees. Additional bonuses of the rooftop garden on the 6th floor are a popular pizzeria from spring to fall and the magnificent partial views of Rome - even St. Peter's Basilica can be seen in the distance between the trees of the Swiss Cultural Institute opposite.
At ground level, a star-crowned gastronomic luminary is on hand for culinary flights of fancy: Ciccio Sultano, who not so long ago was still cooking up guests at the Ritz Carlton in Vienna, fuses his Sicilian roots with Roman culinary culture at "Giano". Just two of many dinner highlights: the butter-soft octopus with caponata and the grouper from the Josper grill in a heavenly bed of gazpacho. Brazilian sommelier Aires da Silva pours fine wines to accompany the multi-course menu, from Timorasso 2019 to Gaia & Rey Chardonnay 2020.
After tickling your taste buds and filling your belly , you return to the cool Studio Suite, where a spiral staircase leads from the living area with kitchenette to the upper floor. There, design sometimes trumps function: the door of the narrow shower cubicle cannot be fully closed from the inside - resulting in puddles of water on the floor. The good vibrations, which seem to flow incessantly through the house, have been somewhat exaggerated here.
