In the heart of the Algarve, high up on the cliffs overlooking the bright blue Atlantic, lies the Vila Joya, which has already won several awards as the best boutique hotel in Europe and is a place of pilgrimage for gourmets.

As soon as the entrance gate closes behind you, you seem to have arrived in another world. Like a small oriental palace, the elongated house nestles in the lush vegetation. Family-run in the second generation by Joy Jung, namesake and daughter of the owner family, the relaxed and elegant hotel shines above all with its spectacular location, the gourmet restaurant and the fantastic 2-star cuisine of Dieter Koschina (many guests come back time and again because of him), as well as its personal service philosophy. You almost feel like you are visiting friends. No wonder, as Joy and her team never talk about the Vila Joya as a hotel, but always as "home".
Nothing is too much and nothing is missing in the 22 rooms and suites with fireplaces, free-standing bathtubs, whirlpools, oriental bathrooms with mosaics and fresh flowers every day. Each of them is unique and impresses not only with its magnificent sea view, but also with its casual, luxurious home style. If you prefer something a little larger, choose the fairytale Suite 1001, where the name says it all. You don't really want to leave this little house: The ambience is too beautiful, the service too perfect, the view of the sea too magical. The scent of roses, hibiscus and bougainvillea fills the air, mingling with the salty, tangy aroma of the Atlantic. Palm trees, cypresses and strawberry trees provide shade in the evergreen garden with direct access to the beach. The word paradise is often overused these days. But here, for once, it may be justified.
The Vila Joya with its private, intimate character is an oasis of calm that has a decelerating and incredibly relaxing effect. At night, you are guaranteed to hear nothing but the sound of the sea. Joggers go for a morning run along the golden beach before heading for a sumptuous breakfast with a pleasant mix of à la carte and fine buffet: the presentation and selection of high-quality products is sensational, all of exquisite quality - from Balik salmon to deliciously fresh raspberries. The new highlight in summer is the Vila Joya Sea, a cool beach restaurant built into the cliffs, where locals and guests can also dine. The menu includes fish and steaks, while a specially hired sushi master serves sashimi, nigiri and chirashi.
