Boldly built into the rock in a triangle shape, the Tivoli Carvoeiro has been perched above the cliffs of Vale Covo since the 1970s.

The fact that they were allowed to build back then without any consideration for nature and coastal protection benefits guests today: no matter which of the 248 rooms you choose, you can always enjoy the spectacular and unobstructed view of the sea and the bizarre rock formations from your own balcony. This also applies to the spacious garden area with its circular pool deck and palm-covered sunbathing lawn, where you can find your place in the sun (or shade) even in high season.
The "white giant" also exudes retro-chic charm on the inside: During the complete renovation in 2016, it was skillfully managed to preserve elements from the past and combine them with a contemporary and relaxed designer ambience. This was particularly successful in the glamorous lobby! Unfortunately, this is not the case in "The One". Designed as a fine-dining restaurant, you dine here in front of gray Formica tabletops and within earshot of the large dining room. In addition, the cuisine is ambitious, but unfortunately also rather lacking in flavor. Rarely have prawns, served with lime confit and coriander foam, sounded so tempting and tasted so meaningless ... However, our maître Ricardo, who served first-class local wines with great expertise and dedication, proved to be a real ray of hope that evening.
Two further highlights during our stay: the huge breakfast buffet in the morning, which was rich in regional specialties, and the stylish Sky Bar in the evening. Located on the roof of the hotel, it is one of the hippest addresses in the Algarve and attracts guests with lively DJ sounds under the sparkling starry sky.
