The Ritz-Carlton Vienna
Culinary symphonies on the Ringstrasse
Our Junior Suite offers a view of the ice skating club, Beethoven monument and concert hall. The rooms are high, bright, inviting, classic Ritz, not superfancy. The dominant marble in the bathroom is dark green. The "Albertina Suite" on the same floor leaves more of an impression: just under 150 m2 in size, suitable for families and groups of friends, but also for events and meetings. A small balcony overlooking the Ringstrasse adds to the suite's charm. The paintings on the wall are on loan from the Albertina Museum. There is even more music in the brand new 99 m2 Symphony Suite. As a special treat from the hotel, guests staying in the suite can listen to a dress rehearsal of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. As with the new Rosewood in Vienna, four buildings have been linked together for the Ritz, whereby each of the palaces built in the heyday of Vienna's Ringstrasse had different architects and owners.
The cuisine is definitely not from yesterday - it is international and great in the best sense of the word: "Pastamara" pays homage to Sicilian cucina and aperitivo culture. The steakhouse "Dstrikt" has quickly made a name for itself in local gourmet circles - which is not so easy for a hotel restaurant in Austria. Sindy Kretschmar floats between the tables as a knowledgeable sommelier. She has been the good (bottled) spirit in the house for seven years. The Leipzig native serves an ice-cold "Nigl Hochäcker" Riesling with the sea bass ceviche, while the beef fillet in pepper sauce is toasted with a strong, spicy red, "Château de Beaucastel", Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Those who still haven't had enough of the exquisite food on offer the next morning can order Egg Benedict with lobster. Also not everyday.
