The First Musica
There's music in it!
Anyone looking for an alternative to the pomp of a Roman palazzo and who finds the offer of staying in one hotel and using two others attractive.
For timeless designer charm there is plenty of dark wood and even more matt gold in the small 24-room boutique hotel. Luxurious Loro Piana fabrics and gleaming Carrara marble exude Italian elegance in bathrooms bathed in natural light and equipped with elegant Etro amenities. If, like me, you arrive in the late afternoon, it's best to climb onto the roof of The First Musica to enjoy an aperitivo with a view of the river and the city's rooftops in the rooftop bar, which is also popular with Romans.
One floor below you can then dine with a view: The hotel's own Alto restaurant is known for its fine fish and seafood cucina and delights with wild berry shrimp carpaccio, sea urchin linguine or cod with chestnut foam. Sounds delicious, but thanks to the "Urban Resort" concept of "The First Roma by The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts" group, it can be expanded even further. Just a short hop across the river is The First Arte with its 2-star Aqualino restaurant. And at The First Dolce, another sister hotel on Via del Corso, you can enjoy perhaps the best high tea in the Italian capital in the afternoon.
