Azure blue sea, sunny yellow beaches, purple lavender, green pine forests: In St. Tropez, nature also likes to be colorful. Perhaps this is why Christophe Pillet decided to immerse Sezz, not far from the Baie des Canebiers, in "50 shades of gray". As we all know, contrasts attract. Do they also look homely? It's purely a matter of taste, but my "Cocoon King" room seems pretty cool to me - an impression that is reinforced by the spectacular vaulted ceiling reminiscent of an airplane hangar. Not a matter of taste, but simply annoying: the air conditioning hidden in the closet, which can only be operated if you put your shirts aside first, handleless sliding doors that even men's fingernails can barely open without damage or eight (!) unlabeled light switches next to the bed, which have to be tried out every night before going to bed. On the other hand, the bathroom with additional outdoor shower in an atrium is a success. And the five-metre-high glass façade, which allows a view of the sky in the living/sleeping area and an exit to a small private garden, is also very appealing.
The centerpiece and real eye-catcher , however, is the large pool, which cannot be overlooked as soon as you enter the hotel. For self-proclaimed Instagram stars, it is the object of desire for photos - for everyone else, it is a palm-fringed oasis of calm and a relaxed alternative to the beach clubs of Pampelonne.
You don't have to leave the Sezz for fine dining either : In the Colette restaurant with adjoining Dom Perignon Bar, star chef Philippe Colinet enchants with deliciously creative creations. If you want to enjoy your "Tintenfisch Aller - Retour" or the "Pommes de Terre/Meer" in a Mediterranean ambience, you should make a reservation on the terrace. For the interior of the gourmet temple, Monsieur Pillet has declared dull dove gray to be the last word in wisdom - probably because of the contrasts, but certainly not because of the eye, which also likes to eat.
