Relais & Châteaux Hotel Le Toiny St. Barth
A perfect location for a wonderful day at the beach
In front of the terrace of your own suite - with a not-so-small infinity pool - the bay with its long sandy beach is practically at your feet. How to get there, however, was not immediately clear to us: you order the golf cart and are then driven up to the lobby. There you change into an off-road vehicle and bump down a steep sandy slope to the fine sandy beach. Once at the bottom, there are not only palm trees, hanging mats, sun loungers and parasols, but also a beach club with a bar, swimming pool and boutique. A perfect location to spend a wonderful day at the beach. However, there were some small drawbacks: the lunch with our feet in the sand was mediocre at best. The South African chef was almost certainly not at the stove himself. Because in the evening, at dinner with a view, Jarad McCarroll showed that he really has what it takes. He cooks with an unmistakable signature style and his dishes would also hold their own in Berlin or London.
Something to get used to: Breakfast is only served in the suite after filling out an order card in advance and only until 10.30 a.m. - with one or two things being charged extra.
