Raffles Bali
A treat with a view of the Bay and Boeings
Gourmets, wellness fans and anyone who doesn't want to struggle through Bali's traffic chaos after a long flight
and then has to dry in the sun.
However, these are the only two drawbacks in a hotel that is otherwise hard to beat. Not in terms of size - just 32 villas are spread across 23 hectares of parkland with waterways, winding paths and herb gardens. Not in terms of facilities - even the smallest villa has 375 m2 of living space in elegant Bali style. Not in terms of wellness offers - I will never forget the massage in the open-air pavilion with its stunning views and the evening meditation in a candlelit cave. And above all, there is no shortage of culinary highlights. The delicious and entertaining gourmet journeys through Indonesia's provinces, which the French-born star chef Gaetan Biesuz celebrates every evening in the bamboo-covered Rumari restaurant, are absolutely unique and of the very highest standard.
And speaking of travel: Anyone who is picked up by their Raffles butler in the arrivals terminal after a long flight and escorted past all the queues to their limousine really appreciates this service. It's almost a shame that the subsequent drive to the hotel only takes 20 minutes. But that's the thing about so-called "top locations": they almost always have some kind of disadvantage ...
Test highlights
