NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento
Solid premium luxury meets super service
price-conscious travelers, who value reliable standards but not necessarily top equipment
Admittedly, you wouldn't necessarily want to spend your honeymoon or a romantic weekend in this former office building, which has been converted into a hotel and is decorated in cool gray/white tones. However, for a business trip or a cultural and shopping weekend, it is a good and centrally located choice.
From my south-west facing junior suite, located on one of the upper floors with separate living/sleeping area and large bathroom with shower and bathtub, I overlook both the small hotel garden with remains of the ancient city wall and the green hills of the city. Just in time for the blue hour, the otherwise rather interchangeable designer ambience (lots of white, two art books next to the sofa and the obligatory orchid on the desk) even has a romantic Roma feel to it ... For those with less of a view (or imagination), we recommend the huge roof terrace with a 270° panoramic view at sunset, which is unfortunately not open in winter. Although it is only on the fifth floor of the palazzo, it is one of the highest in the city thanks to its hilltop location. Passionate sports enthusiasts also like to get on the two high-tech stationary bikes up here, which encourage open-air training all year round.
The charming doorman also took care of my personal physical wellbeing.
charming doorman also made an effort. More than molto simpatico, as he came running after me with an umbrella because the weather forecast predicted a thunderstorm for later in the afternoon ...
