Long Beach Mauritius
Docle Vita Resort with piazza and climbing wall
spacious rooms and sports activities.
This resort is fun right from the start, has a good vibe, is friendly, lively but not over the top. Perhaps the biggest surprise: the harmonious centerpiece, a good 9,000 km from Italy, is a piazza lined with restaurants. After dinner, guests flock here to have a chat on the benches or listen to live music in the "Shores" bar. Our discreetly elegant Premium Junior Suite with limited sea views was a little out of the way, which could be tricky when returning home in the dark: The dim lighting required a cell phone light to reach No. 121 in one piece. The second flaw: unfortunately, the patio door could only be forced open. The rattan relaxation shell by the elevated adult pool is much easier to get into. However, it would be a shame to just sit back and relax: the included activities program is varied. Golfers can try their hand at the famous 18 holes of the Île aux Cerfs. A snorkeling trip is offered twice a day, so the mojito bar at the water sports center is left out for the time being. There is even a soccer pitch and - no, not a mirage - an impressive climbing wall! There is also room for fun education in between. On the biodiversity trail, guides give interested guests an insight into the fauna and flora of the hotel. Where there is now lush vegetation, there was hardly a tree 12 years ago. The herb garden and beehives are visited by buggy. The environment, the cycle of nature, sustainability: it should not just be the usual buzz, but lived practice. That's why there's a special souvenir in the room when you leave: a pair of sunglasses made from recycled plastic bottles.
Test highlight: The brand new GLOW wellness concept and the spa's outdoor relaxation oasis by a small lake with lots of greenery.
