Luxury hotel or medical spa? One could argue about the appropriate name for the Lily of the Valley (or not, as the term "medical spa" is banned in France). However, the fantastic location of the "Lily of the Valley Hotel" is absolutely indisputable! With the Plage de Gigaro at your feet, which is rarely overcrowded even in summer, and the millionaire hills of La Croix Valmer at your back, you can enjoy absolute peace and quiet high above the sea - and still be at your own beach club in just a few minutes. It would be hard to find a more exclusive hideaway around St. Tropez. Nor a more bling-bling-free one. This is partly due to star architect Philippe Starck, who prefers polished concrete to shiny gold and has created a luxury hangout that is as hip as it is harmonious with the Lily of the Valley. On the other hand, it is also due to the 2,000 m2 Shape Club with XXL(ong) pool, high-tech gym, seven treatment rooms and at least as many personal trainers. Instead of showing off, losing weight and relaxing are the order of the day in this ambience.
Which shouldn't stop "vacationers only" from indulging themselves in the first-class restaurant according to all the rules of Provencal cuisine or sipping champagne on the spectacular terrace at sunset! The mix of spa retreat and vacation resort works perfectly: everyone does what they want and is usually deeply relaxed and in high spirits at the end of the day.
Only the unprofessional service causes more "ouches" than "ohms". We had to wait more than 20 minutes for the menu at our first dinner and had to ask for a cup of tea several times at breakfast. Unfortunately, it's not surprising that the two glasses of water we drank in the lobby because our room wasn't ready on time were later added to our final bill. That's all well and good, but the promised "holistic and sustainable experiences that stay with us far beyond our hotel stay" were something else.
