The Trident Hotel
Chic villas and a castle
But the baroness did not pay the bills and never moved in. In the 1990s, stars such as Brad Pit, Kate Moss, Tom Cruise and Robin Williams came instead. Today, Trident Castle is used for events, especially weddings.
Guests then not only stay in the eight bedrooms of the castle, but also in the 13 villas of the Small Luxury Hotel, which are within walking distance. They are lined up like a string along the rocky water's edge - the man-made private beach with beach bar and water sports facilities is just a few steps away. In the villas, furnished in light tones with large terraces accented by retro art, you can enjoy a homely ambience with a beautiful pool and plenty of privacy. Very cozy, very relaxed.
The coffee for the coffee facilities in the living room comes from the nearby Blue Mountains from the owner's plantation.
The infinity pool and the adjacent main restaurant, The Veranda, are also just a few meters away. It's a lovely place to sit with a sea view - and there was nothing wrong with either our burgers or the spicy tandoori shrimps.
The attentive, well-trained waiter first served a sip of Blackstone's Merlot in an "official" wine glass before pouring the wine generously into a pretty carafe after I said okay. Wine was also a big topic at our excellent dinner in Sonia's Kitchen. The wine fridges there are extremely well stocked.
