Test highlight Dinner with a view at the Elia restaurant
Our first impression, right at check-in: The Ikos Odisia, which opened in 2023, is teeming with young families enjoying their vacation! However, with more than enough space and retreat options, this should never be a problem during our stay. So let's concentrate on one of the most important things: the food! We particularly like the Spanish restaurant "Oliva" by star chef David Ibarboure, which is located on a hill. The two-year construction period was well worth it; in addition to the look (and the cuisine), the wine cellar with 300 wines is also impressive. A little further on is the "Elia": a dream cliff-top location, also a fine selection of wines, urban, contemporary and a perfect romantic dinner spot for parents - or older couples like us.
In this ambience, it's easy to understand why the Ikos Odisia with its "ultra-all-inclusive" concept is so popular. Because everything is included here - from the diverse gastronomic offerings to the great variety of sports with tennis for the grown-ups and soccer academy for the youngsters to evening shows in the open-air theater. Then there are the beautiful, long beaches with children splashing happily in the water, shady cabanas for a nap and a beach grill - after all, sea air makes you hungry.
Together with suitable accommodation,-- e.g. a villa belonging to the "Deluxe Collection" area, it makes for a very comfortable vacation. However, we had a few problems with our room: a wobbly tap, a Nespresso machine without capsules and cups and the remote location at the end of the complex significantly spoiled the living and vacation experience in our case. All in all, however, the Ikos Odisia is a very successful resort that particularly appeals to families thanks to its carefree all-inclusive vacation package.
