Gran Hotel Montesol Ibiza
The classic in the city
Even Grace Kelly stayed here. In 2016, the Hilton Hotel Group took over the listed building and integrated it into its CURIO Collection. Since the extensive renovation, the architectural icon with its classicist façade in bright yellow and white has once again attracted everyone's attention. Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán is responsible for the interior design. He has skillfully mixed classic grand hotel flair with art, photos and unusual accents such as a dinosaur skeleton in the entrance area. A tongue-in-cheek reference to the age of the hotel? After all, the Montesol claims to have been the first hotel on the island to open in 1933.

The rooms - only 11 per floor and each one unique - are bright and modern, with charming French balconies, which unfortunately cannot be entered for reasons of monument protection and safety. The floor-to-ceiling windows look directly onto the lively Passeig de Vara de Rey. The rooms are not too large, but are very cleverly furnished to a high standard: dark wooden floors, white walls, comfortable beds, colonial-style fans, 55-inch flatscreen TV, espresso machine. The public areas of the 5-star hotel are stylish and elegant. The bar and restaurant exude Art Deco charm. Due to the size of the hotel and the listed building, there is unfortunately no pool or spa, but there is a fantastic roof terrace with a magnificent panoramic view of the harbor and old town.
