Capella Breidenbacher Hof Düsseldorf

A hotel legend

Will the once legendary Hotel Breidenbacher Hof live up to its elite reputation again? We roll up the driveway to the hotel with a corresponding sense of excitement and expectation and are greeted personally by the doorman. This marks the beginning of the elaborate VIP service for every single guest.

At reception, a personal assistant guides us through the lobby to the so-called "Living Room", to which only hotel guests have access. Before that, however, the elegant, bright lobby is impressive: gold leaf shines on the ceilings and Spanish marble gleams underfoot. The open staircase with gold-framed cast-iron banisters leads to the Beletage, a lobby with piano music. The entrance has the character of a grand hotel, pompous and opulent in design. The elegant guest lounge, the "Livingroom", was designed by interior specialist Peter Silling using the finest materials for the high-quality furnishings. With its variety of patterns, it may appear somewhat restless to some and resembles the classic Ritz-Carlton style.

This lounge is
also popular for business and private discussions between hotel guests and their visitors. A small breakfast, drinks and appetizers are complimentary. Guided by the "Personal Assistant" into the "Capella Suite", it offers 79 square meters of space and luxury. Checkroom and guest toilet in the entrance. A spacious living room with bar, small library, desk, comfortable seating area and huge flatscreen TV leaves nothing to be desired, as does the bedroom with king-size beds, dressing table and adjoining dressing room with illuminated wardrobes. The marble bathroom, excellently lit, has plenty of storage space, a Jacuzzi bath, shower cubicle and separate toilet. The large mirror has an integrated LCD flat screen. The entire luxurious room technology (lighting, air conditioning, music, TV, curtains) can be operated via touch panels in every room. The restaurant was a weak point for us. Although the room impresses with its decorative buffet counter and conveys comfort during the day with a view of the city life of the famous "Kö", it lacks atmosphere in the evening. In addition, the prices do not quite match the quality of the food, even if it is served in a visually excellent manner. Conclusion: The highly attentive guest service and the well thought-out and luxurious furnishings have once again made the hotel a top address in the hotel industry.
