The architecture is impressive and flooded with light. All rooms and suites are spacious and modern, equipped with amenities such as a flat screen, MP3 sound system or Nespresso machine. There is even a TV above the bathtub in the elegant marble bathrooms with glittering silver mini mosaics. On the negative side, the gray leather-look headboard behind the wide, comfortable bed is already peeling and the sheets are obviously too small for the size of the bed. The view of the bankrupt, empty apartment complex directly opposite also spoiled the feel-good ambience on our balcony.

Golfers, on the other hand, will be delighted to find that there are half a dozen great golf courses in the immediate vicinity and the beach with the hotel's own beach club is only a few kilometers away. A shuttle service is available for both options. The "Gusto" restaurant under the direction of legendary three-star chef Heinz Beck - one of three culinary alternatives at the Conrad - is an absolute must. The cocktails are delicious, the wine list fantastic and the young chef, Delfo Schiaffino, a true culinary artist. His duck foie gras with peas, mint and homemade limoncello and his Carabineiro prawns with smoked avocado, yoghurt and curry are sensational. In addition to the excellent conference and business facilities, the Michelin-starred cuisine and professional service are certainly also reasons why the Conrad Algarve is a popular location for corporate events.
