We cover the last kilometer on a dusty dirt road. Then a large gate opens and we are there: surrounded by pine, almond and olive trees, Can Lluc is idyllically situated in a small valley in the interior of the island - the ideal place to get to know the quiet side of the Balearic island. The small village of San Rafael is two kilometers away.

This family-run boutique hotel with just 20 rooms is elegantly rustic, authentic and romantic. "We are not hoteliers. We are hosts and would like to share our home with you," smiles Tina Soriano, who runs Can Lluc with her husband. With great dedication, Tina and Lucas have transformed the old finca from the early 19th century into an enchanting country hotel with a very personal service.
All 20 rooms (12 of which are in the old main house) are individually and lovingly furnished, some with thick natural stone walls, wooden beams, terraces, open fireplaces and bathtubs with whirlpool. Our very comfortable retreat is one of the new mini luxury villas in Bauhaus style: rectangular, modern, with plenty of space and privacy, a wonderful, partly covered terrace with white leather sofas by Gabar and a beautiful garden with a large Bali bed under shady olive trees.
Breakfast on the terrace by the pool is idyllic, with a simple but delicious buffet, complemented by a choice of freshly prepared egg dishes. A relaxing stay is guaranteed by the extensive Mediterranean gardens and the large pool - the heart of the complex - with its Moorish-inspired design and fantastic views of the picturesque landscape. You can book a massage or a yoga or meditation course, go for a run on the hotel's own jogging trail or simply take a siesta in a hammock under ancient carob trees and enjoy the magnificent sunset over the bay of San Antonio in the evening from an elevated vantage point on the hotel grounds. And if it does get too quiet, you can quickly reach the hotspots in Ibiza Town.
