The Vilalara Thalassa Resort is located above the cliffs of Praia das Gaivotas, in the middle of a lush 11-hectare Mediterranean garden with magnificent old trees.

The sea is not just a backdrop here, but plays a leading role in the more than 60 applications and treatments at the largest thalassotherapy center in the Algarve. It extends over 2,600 square meters in its own building. Doctors and therapists offer medical wellness treatments at the highest level. But you can also simply pamper yourself in the award-winning Longevity Medical Spa, play a round of tennis or swim in one of the five pools or in the sea.
A steep stone staircase leads down to a picturesque, small, sheltered bay with a wonderfully fine sandy beach. There are sun loungers and parasols at the bottom. During the season, there is also a well-functioning beach service. Inspired by the style of Gaudí, the architecture of the Vilalara with its various flat building complexes impresses with its rounded lines and warm earthy colors.
There are also numerous private apartments on the grounds of the extensive complex. The owners are allowed to drive directly to their house on the narrow cobblestone paths in their own car. Despite the hillside location, only eight suites have a sea view. The furnishings are bright, simple and tasteful with color accents in sea colors ranging from aqua blue to jade green. The noiseless air conditioning is a pleasant feature. There is a powerful ceiling shower in the bathroom, but you will look in vain for a hand shower. There are two garden chairs and a table on the balcony. A lounger would also be nice here. Two Nespresso capsules in the room per day are free, breakfast is served in the B&G restaurant or on the terrace with a fantastic view of the sea. The buffet is extensive and the staff are quick and attentive, not just in the morning. The service is generally very friendly and always helpful.
