Test highlight: The large antipasti platter, which was already in the room when we arrived late at the hotel.
Due to flight delays we only reach the Baia di Chia Resort Sardinia at around 11 pm. The restaurant is already closed, but the lady at reception smiles and explains that we don't have to go to sleep hungry. We are driven directly to our suite in the buggy - and what a lovely surprise: a large antipasti platter awaits us, along with fresh fruit, pralines and a bottle of sparkling Franciacorta. The evening is saved. The idyllic location of the hideaway on a peninsula at the southern tip of Sardinia is unbeatable. Rooms and suites are generously spread out on a hill, hidden amidst the dense, green vegetation. It is immediately clear who the star is here, what the focus is: the impressive, wild nature! No matter which retreat you choose, the view is magnificent. Whether it's the shimmering pink lagoon with dozens of flamingos, the golden Monte Cogoni Beach or the turquoise sea. Who cares if there is a turndown service in the evening? Thanks to the use of natural materials and colors, architecture and nature seem to flow seamlessly into one another.
Our spacious suite with its sleek, modern design and plenty of privacy not only offers a postcard view, but also direct access (60 steps) to the champagne-colored beach with towel and drinks service. Breakfast and dinner are served in the main restaurant Il Ginepro with patio and terrace. Il Canneto Bar, right by the impressive 25-metre-long pool - you could spend the whole day here alone - offers drinks, snacks and light lunches around the clock. As the Baia di Chia Resort is part of the extensive Chia Laguna Resort with its diverse offering, you can also try out the other nine restaurants as part of the Culinary Journey program. The spa and gym can also be used at the sister hotel Conrad Laguna.
