For over 200 years, the magnificent Adare Manor was the family seat of the Earls of Dunraven. It was then transformed into a luxurious hotel. With the latest multi-million euro renovation in 2017, the new owner JP McManus has succeeded in giving the neo-Gothic property even more glitz and glamor. Even a new wing - the Westwing - was added in exactly the same style under the direction of the well-known London firm Reardon Smith Architects. Adare Manor offers everything you would expect from a stately country home: grandeur and history, butler service and monogrammed bed linen, Michelin-starred restaurant and spa... It is a place to unwind and relax that is hard to beat in terms of ambience and facilities. There is plenty of space. Everything here is a little bigger, more perfect and more opulent. The dark entrance hall impresses with its cathedral-like dimensions, but still feels inviting. A massive wooden staircase, guarded by large, carved ravens, leads up to "The Gallery" - one of the longest rooms in Ireland at 40 meters long and eight meters high. Delicious breakfasts are served here in the morning and afternoon tea in the afternoon. Set in 840 hectares of parkland with ancient trees,

stones and ruins, Adare Manor is picturesquely situated on the Maigue River. Those who come here to enjoy nature are not simply taking a walk, they are taking a stroll. In the extensive parkland, you can go horse riding, fishing, archery and clay pigeon shooting or play a round of golf on the world-class course newly designed by Tom Fazio. Incidentally, the Golf Ryder Cup will be held here in 2027. If you are planning a visit to this prestigious tournament, this is the place to be.

Test highlight... Breakfast in the unique ambience of the 40-metre-long dining room "The Gallery" - inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles
