Malta

A fantastic climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year, unspoilt landscapes with sweeping views over the turquoise blue sea and a culture that is thousands of years old and still shapes life on the Maltese islands today - all this and much more can be enjoyed again on the small Mediterranean archipelago: Malta has been welcoming vaccinated tourists to the country again since June 1, 2021.

A great vacation - for sure

The reopening of everyday life is based on the rapid progress of the national vaccination program: Malta started this on 27 December 2020 at the same time as Germany. Thanks to the excellent Maltese healthcare system, Malta was the first European country to achieve herd immunity back in June.

In addition to special entry regulations, the country also ensures a safe stay on the island with a comprehensive COVID-19 safety protocol. Compliance with the extensive hygiene regulations for tourist facilities such as establishments, hotels, restaurants and beaches is strictly monitored; holidaymakers can recognize inspected facilities by a publicly visible certificate. These and many other measures, such as adapted booking regulations, more flexibility and cost protection on the part of tour operators and travel portals, ensure that holidaymakers feel safe and have a stress-free vacation - from booking to their return flight.
