Thailand - Culinary delights in the land of smiles

When the next trip to Thailand is imminent, connoisseurs usually look forward to one thing in particular: the endless and exciting variety of flavors of Thai cuisine. For Asia fans, it has long been considered the best in the region.

The roots of Thai cuisine can be found in thousands of cookshops and countless markets, which can be found on virtually every corner in Bangkok and other places. The culinary variety is almost limitless. Many favorable facts have come together in the Land of Smiles. Throughout its long history, immigrants from China have brought many impressions and flavors with them to their new homeland. In addition, there is an enormous selection of fruits, tropical plants and herbs that is second to none...and somehow it seems as if an attempt has been made to combine everything that grows and thrives in the kitchen.

Tantalization on every corner - discover markets and street food...
As soon as you arrive in Thailand, you soon discover a wide variety of markets with exotic fruits, vegetables and sometimes unfamiliar ingredients and then, usually just around the corner from the hotel, the wonderful food stalls. No visitor should miss out on this essential Thai experience, the enjoyable, vitamin-rich and varied food. As Thais often do not have kitchens at home, this is how most of the food culture takes place - food stalls are available on many corners and streets at all times of the day and night and offer a range of dishes that is unparalleled in terms of variety, taste and diversity. Everything is freshly made and reveals the typical Thai flavors - sweet, sour, salty, spicy and bitter should be the best. Vegetarian compositions are also always available. To really get a taste of Thai food, you could also take part in a food tour or attend a Thai cooking course.

Haute cuisine and other "high" cuisines
There is also fine gourmet cuisine in Thailand - it is often celebrated high above the rooftops in exciting rooftop bars, especially in the capital Bangkok. In general, the Land of Smiles is home to some exciting top gourmet temples, most of which are also ranked among the best in Asia or have been honored or even crowned with stars in the Michelin Guide Thailand. This gourmet bible also dedicates a chapter to the ubiquitous street food and several of the cookshops are mentioned in it, or, as in the case of chef Jay Fai, even awarded a Michelin star!
With this in mind: enjoy your meal!
