Garda Trentino, Italy

There is a lot to discover in Garda Trentino - from cultural treasures to magnificent natural sites and outdoor sports activities to gourmet festivals, there is everything here.

Garda Trentino is a region that extends from the northern shore of Lake Garda into a magnificent mountain landscape. Not only does it delight visitors with its special natural and cultural treasures, picturesque villages and genuine hospitality, but gourmets and wine lovers will also get their money's worth. Don't miss the fifth edition of "Garda con Gusto, the festival of flavors" in the Palavela of Riva del Garda. From November 1 to 3, the best players from the local, national and international food and wine scene such as star chefs, food bloggers, producers and sommeliers will come together here. Guests include Alfio Ghezzi from Trentino, long-time chef at Locanda Margon, where he was awarded two Michelin stars, and Gennaro Esposito, chef of the Torre del Saracino restaurant, also awarded two Michelin stars. Filippo Sinisgalli, the "chef to Hollywood stars" and many other guests will join the expert panel as a well-known TV face in Italy and abroad.

The real stars , however, are the local products: from carne salada to extra virgin olive oil, from Torbole broccoli Presidium Slow Food to organic vegetables from the Val di Gresta and tasty Alpine cheese. Of course, fish is also a must. This year's menu includes carpione, also known as Lake Garda trout: This fish from the salmon family with its tender flesh is found exclusively in Lake Garda and is considered a particularly exclusive delicacy. To round off the tasting and sensory experience, there are Trentodoc sparkling wines, regional white and red wines, grappas and coffee. As a special treat, a gastronomic welcome package can be booked with discounts on the tasting menus and much more.

Since the climate is still particularly mild in autumn , Lake Garda and its surrounding area offer a variety of unforgettable experiences even outside of the summer vacation. Natural treasures such as the waterfalls of Varone, Lake Tenno, the biotope of the Marocche of Dro and that of Monte Brione in Riva del Garda, the glacial potholes of the Marmitte dei Giganti in Nago, the Caproni forest and the botanical garden in Arco invite you to go on (dis)exciting explorations. The "Hidden Treasures" on Lake Garda offer a very special experience full of magic, myths and history. From a tour of the town of Arco, to Goethe's path to the village of Nago-Torbole, to a walk in the footsteps of Rilke at the foot of Arco Castle, from hikes along the Sarca River or across the agricultural terraces of Tenno to mountain tours around Campi or along the 1915-1918 fortress line, a total of 21 themed routes await adventurers and curious explorers.

Another excursion tip is the medieval village of Canale di Tenno above Lake Garda, which was revitalized by artists in the 1960s. Around 40 people now live in the small village, which has become a meeting place for artists and art lovers and has been named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy by the "Club de I Borghi più belli d'Italia". The region is an ideal outdoor world for sports lovers: 1,370 km for 44 MTB routes, 1,820 km for road biking, 631 climbing routes, 600 km for 55 trekking routes, 7 Via Ferratas, sailing and windsurfing with + 60 regattas a year, SUP, canyoning, trail running, to name just the most important.
