Saying "I do" between clouds and the sea

Royal Caribbean: Wedding debut for the North Star

With the North Star, Royal Caribbean International's Quantum-class cruise ships, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas, offer a 360 Grand Panorama. The glass viewing capsule lifts guests more than 90 meters above the ship and the ocean and is also available for wedding ceremonies.

The first couple to get married there were Mark Burden and Sharron Bowman from West Yorkshire, England. Captain Srecko "Felix" Ban married them on a cruise from Cape Liberty in the US to Labadee, Haiti. The captains of Royal Caribbean International, whose fleet sails under the flag of the Bahamas, are authorized by the local government to perform legally binding marriages in international waters. The marriages are also valid in the home country - after recognition by the registry office.

Royal Caribbean International also offers many other venues for weddings on board its fleet - from the surf simulator to the onboard chapel. Weddings at an extraordinary location during a shore leave are also possible, for example in the pink sand of Bermuda or on the coast of Cozumel in Mexico.
Wedding packages start from 3,195 US dollars and can be customized from the menu to the decorations to the ceremony. Personal coordinators are available on board for planning and execution.
