The American cruise line Princess Cruises has established itself as the market leader in the field of Alaska cruises over the last 50 years. Fascinating fjords and journeys along majestic glaciers in the 49th US state are the shipping company's specialty. From May to September 2022, a total of six ships from the Princess fleet will be sailing from four ports on twelve different routes to Alaska. Passengers can choose from 140 departure dates. Between July and September 2022, the Japanese-built Diamond Princess will cruise from Yokohama (Tokyo) and Kobe on 35 dates in Japan and three other countries in the region. It will make stopovers along the way, allowing passengers to visit ten UNESCO World Heritage Sites and take part in various events. The program includes the Danjiri Chariot Festival in Osaka and the Nebuta Matsuri Festival in Aomori.
Naturally, a special safety and hygiene concept has been developed for the 16 first-class ships in the fleet to make cruises a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. The shipping company is certain that the demand for luxury cruises will continue unabated. Princess Cruises has planned the commissioning of two newbuilds powered by low-emission liquefied natural gas (LNG) for 2023 and 2025.
