... or you get a 12-day cruise for free! With this promise, Hurtigruten is currently luring Scandinavia fans onto the classic post ship route.
"Aurora borealis", "aurora borealis" or "northern lights" are just a few of the names for the swathes of light that usually flicker green across the horizon and exert a magical attraction. The Northern Lights also play a major role on the Hurtigruten ships in winter. This is because the voyage takes place along the Norwegian coast - far away from the scattered light of the cities. Plus: on seven of the twelve days of the voyage, the route runs north of the Arctic Circle, where the Northern Lights occur more frequently during the cold season. Hurtigruten is now offering the "Northern Lights Promise" to Northern Lights hunters who book the classic Hurtigruten voyage Bergen-Kirkenes-Bergen for January and February 2016: if the coveted veils of light appear in the sky during the voyage, guests will be informed immediately by the crew so that no one misses the phenomenon. If the Northern Lights do not appear during the entire trip, Hurtigruten will give the guest another trip in the next Northern Lights season.
