Back to the Bahamas

Carnival and Royal Caribbean

After Hurican Dorian, many cruise ships gave the Bahamas a wide berth - on the one hand, they did not want to further hinder the clean-up work and, on the other hand, parts of the tourist infrastructure were completely or partially destroyed. The cruise ships from Carnival and Royal Caribbean are now the first to report back. Only the port of Freeport on Grand Bahama is still only open to ships carrying relief supplies. All other Bahamian destinations and the private bathing islands of the shipping companies are accessible again - and urgently dependent on the income from tourists.
