Ready for your own Caribbean island

MSC Cruises is building its own island

MSC Cruises, the world's largest privately managed cruise company, celebrated the ground-breaking ceremony for the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve island project a few days ago. Located around 100 kilometers east of Miami, the Bahamas island will serve as an exclusive natural paradise for MSC passengers from November 2018. The island, where sand was once mined, will be planted with 80 native species of trees, grasses, flowers and shrubs to bring the original vegetation back to life. Convenient plus for all passengers: the MSC ships will be able to dock directly at the island pier, eliminating the inconvenient tenders that are common on the Priavt Islands of the other shipping companies in the Caribbean. The first docking maneuvers with passengers are planned for November 2018.
