Practical combination pleasures

The long-established British shipping company Cunard is now offering many of its own cruises as a combination of air and sea travel. This is not only extremely practical, as it eliminates the hassle of booking flights, but also has other advantages such as the choice of cabin, additional on-board credit and transfers between the airport and port. In addition, "package bookers" are offered free shuttles to the city center in selected destinations.

Want an example? How about a week's cruise through Western Europe on board the Queen Victoria in April 2018 from/to Southampton with stops in La Rochelle, Bilbao and Gijón, among others? The premium fare, i.e. including flights from Austria to London and back, is available from EUR 1,480 per person. Cunard also provides an additional on-board credit of 70 US dollars per passenger.
