Julianhof
Southern Styria is celebrated for its Mediterranean-like temperatures, an extraordinary concentration of top-rated restaurants and internationally acclaimed winemakers, and a plethora of charming wine taverns. For those seeking something truly extraordinary, with ample privacy and indulgence, the Julianhof Premium Guesthouse & Spa in the pilgrimage town of Straden presents a new design oasis with an African touch and ingenious architecture.
“To preserve the existing structure, we went to great lengths to dismantle the old barn and reconstruct the 200-year-old timber frame in its original form,” explain owners Nicole and Bernd Rathgeb. With 180 m², the Farmhouse offers space for up to 5 people. The 280 m² Beachhouse can accommodate up to 7 people and has its own unique character thanks to its one-of-a-kind spa lounge. Such an experience is typically found only in six-star luxury lodges in South Africa—a country with which the owning family has a special affinity, and whose influence is evident throughout the property.
Brunch by the pool or a private chef:
in collaboration with some of Styria’s finest chefs, Julianhof has crafted a truly distinctive gourmet concept. The varied breakfast is delivered fresh each morning and can be savoured either as a pajama breakfast or as a floating brunch in your own pool. Within the guesthouse itself, guests may also indulge in a private cooking experience led by award-winning chefs. With bespoke services ranging from a regional breakfast to a personal coach, massages, and yoga, every wish is fulfilled. Julianhof is far more than exclusive accommodation; it is a complete private resort for those who define luxury not by public display but by discretion, generosity, and freedom.
