Bad Gastein, located at the foot of the Graukogel in Salzburg's Pongau region, is one of those magical Austrian places where a lot of things have been done quite right and some things have been done really wrong. The latter refers to the concrete monument called the "Congress Center", built in 1974, for which, strangely enough, the architect even received a local award at the time. Most of the rest of the "skyscraper village" (because of the tall houses built on the mountainous terrain) is simply fantastic. Only surpassed by the Gastein waterfall, which is a unique natural wonder in the middle of the 4,000-strong community. The Hotel Miramonte is enthroned with a view over the wide Gastein Valley. The extraordinary style is not easy to categorize: A little bit retro, a little bit homely, a little bit cool and yet then again quite cozy. Hotelier Evelyn Ikrath and architect Ike Ikrath have created a magical place where you can lose yourself a little.
The hotel offers its guests a total of 36 rooms, which will win over connoisseurs with their clean lines, design-oriented interior and generous dimensions. The approx. 30 m², light-flooded double and panorama rooms in various categories are characterized by a particularly cosy atmosphere and offer enough space for personal development. The modern accommodations have a large balcony - some with a casual hammock - which becomes an outdoor living room complete with "live TV".
At the Hotel Miramonte, culinary delights have their very own label. This means that, in addition to indulgent calories, the focus is on delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes (such as the Vital 4-course menu). Dining takes place in the atmospheric in-house restaurant, which is decorated with indirect lighting and natural materials such as felt and cowhide. Must visit: The bar, which looks like an alpine movie set from James Bond's "Goldfinger" days. This is the heart of the hotel and a place where you can "mingle" perfectly at any time of day or night. And then immerse yourself in the magnificent natural scenery, which invites you to actively relax at any time of year - whether in the glittering winter or the sun-drenched summer.
