In the heart of Germany's largest wine-growing region, Rheinhessen, surrounded by rolling hills and lush vines, lies the wellness and pleasure hotel Jordan's Untermühle, which is entirely dedicated to wine. Here, tradition meets modernity, wine meets wellness and palate meets pleasure.
"Once upon a time ...". This is how the legend of the little mill under the Mühlgraben in Köngernheim begins - and for Martina and Gerhard Jordan, a fairy tale came true in 2005. First, they bought the three historic half-timbered buildings and the old mill from the 17th century, lovingly renovated everything into a 4-star superior hotel and added a modern extension to the ensemble in 2018. Finally, in 2024, a modern interpretation of the barn was added with a new reception area, integrated day bar, lounge and sun terrace - flooded with light and overlooking pastures and paddocks.
With 45 double rooms and suites in country house style and a spacious spa, the hotel is now considered one of the finest hotel addresses in Rheinhessen.
The heart of the hotel is the 1,000 m² Herz & Rebe Spa with heated outdoor pool including whirlpool loungers, SPA garden, Finnish sauna, aroma steam bath, cold water pool and relaxation area. And of course, everything revolves around the beneficial effects of grapes with their natural active ingredients. The spa concept is based on four main areas: Treatments with the Pinot Noir grape variety lend strength and energy, Riesling provides cleansing and freshness, Pinot Gris brings calm and centering and Silvaner promotes mindfulness and care. The wellness program is supported by cosmetic products from Vinoble.
Gourmets are also well catered for at Jordan's Untermühle. The Lu's restaurant, which was completely renovated in 2023, serves upscale creative cuisine with predominantly regional ingredients and international flavors. The new vegetarian menu concept begins with a selection of cleverly composed starters and delicacies to share, followed by a variety of seasonally changing main courses based purely on plant-based ingredients. Fish and meat components can be added on request - according to personal taste. Creative desserts and cheeses are available to round off the meal. Of course, a wine hotel in Rhineland-Palatinate also needs a well-stocked wine cellar, so you will find a large selection of outstanding Rhine-Hessian wines here; over twenty of them come from neighboring vineyards.
