Arrive and wake up with a boundless view - that's what a vacation at Hotel Schachner feels like. The 4-star hotel in the picturesque pilgrimage town of Maria Taferl promises a stay at the highest level.
With 350 years of history, the Hotel Schachner is now in its 4th generation of family ownership. This is where the love of tradition comes from, without forgetting modern life. The largest renovation in its history took place in 2021/2022. At over 440 meters above the Danube, guests can now look out from the infinity pool in the new wellness area on the extended fourth floor up to 300 km across the Danube to the foothills of the Alps.
The new two-storey Wachauf SPA invites you to relax with its panorama and bio sauna, Wald4tel textile sauna, infrared cabin and brine steam bath. There is also a fitness room, Sky Lounge, FITamin Lounge with fruit and tea bar and cozy relaxation rooms. Of course, the 10,000 m² hotel garden with outdoor pool, old apple and walnut trees and sun beds remains - a wonderful place to stroll and relax. The lobby, reception and parts of the restaurant have also been completely rebuilt and the hotel has been made barrier-free. In 2024, 37 rooms were added, 2 new Wachauf SPA suites with their own sauna and free-standing bathtub and 2 family suites were redesigned.
In the kitchen, head chef Wolfgang Bauer and sous-chef Dominik Moser together with the service team led by Titusz Toth ensure heavenly experiences on the plate. Tip for special gourmets: the "Emerald Menu", awarded 2 toques by Gault Millau!
