Hotel Sacher Vienna
3rd place: More than just a hotel, but rather an institution: the Hotel Sacher Wien is one of the most famous hotels in the world. Not just because of the cake!
Noblesse oblige
The harmonious interplay of historic Art Nouveau charm and contemporary comfort is evident in every detail of the magnificently restored interior - with its antiques and famous collection of paintings worthy of a museum. The rooms and suites shine with exquisite furnishings, silk curtains and selected paintings and sculptures. Today, the Hotel Sacher Wien offers 152 rooms and suites, which were furnished by co-owner Alexandra Winkler in collaboration with the French star designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. These include the two most elegant and largest signature suites "Madame Butterfly" and "Vienna Philharmonic Suite" on the Beletage and several exclusive suites with private roof terraces. Noble marble bathrooms, the finest fabrics and exquisite interiors are not at odds with modern amenities and technical equipment at Sacher.
Sweet touches
The Sacher Boutique Spa is a very special experience. Above the rooftops of Vienna, guests are pampered in an extraordinary atmosphere with the unique Sacher signature body care line "Time to Chocolate", as well as exclusive facial & body treatments by Ligne St. Barth. State-of-the-art fitness equipment is also available for an efficient workout. After your workout, you can relax in the Finnish sauna, brine steam bath or herbal bath.
Sweet myth
The Hotel Sacher Wien also leaves nothing to be desired in culinary terms. In the Grüne Bar restaurant, you can be enchanted by the impressive ambience in which the traditional elegance of the interior harmonizes perfectly with the modern freshness of the service and cuisine. In the Rote Bar restaurant, which has been awarded two toques, you will be spoiled with the finest Viennese classics. In the evening, a pianist provides background music, making the Rote Bar the ideal meeting place before a visit to the opera or as a culinary finale to the evening. In the famous Café Sacher, you can enjoy the original Sacher cake as well as the very best sweet treats, and in the now two-storey Sacher Eck you can enjoy sweet and savory specialties of the house as well as a fantastic view of Kärntner Strasse - all in a stylish, historic Sacher ambience. In the Blue Bar, connoisseurs can also expect gleaming crystal chandeliers and comfortable couches that create an opulent atmosphere reminiscent of turn-of-the-century Vienna. As I said: more than a hotel - an institution.
