Roosevelt Townhouse

Located directly across from the Votivkirche and in close proximity to the Ringstraße, the Roosevelt Stadthaus stands as an extraordinary retreat.

What makes it special: This historic 19th-century Gründerzeit building is not a conventional hotel; since 2016 it has been a family-run townhouse. That means no overzealous room service, no stressful breakfast hours, no prying eyes in the lobby—just a personal and private experience.

A Long Tradition

: The Roosevelt has a wealth of stories to tell: Built in 1886 by Emil von Förster, some of the apartments were designed by Adolf Loos, and parts of them have been preserved to this day. Among the townhouse’s prominent residents was Arthur Schnitzler, who lived here with his mother Louise from 1893 to 1911.

Whether you wish to linger for a few nights or settle in for an extended stay, guests at the Roosevelt embrace authentic Viennese living and can confidently leave their everyday concerns behind. The rooms, suites, and apartments are housed within beautiful historic structures and impress with the highest quality craftsmanship, fine materials, and stylish furnishings.
