Forsthofgut Nature Hotel
2nd place: Pure nature wherever you look - The Naturhotel Forsthofgut impresses with its 30,000 m² garden and organic swimming lake in the middle of the majestic Leoganger Steinberge mountains.
It is the hotel's own forests on the slopes of the Asitz that have shaped the Forsthofgut - once a forestry business, now a 5-star nature hotel in Austria - for 400 years. A vacation at the family-run nature hotel is all about authentic warmth, love of home and closeness to nature. The imposing Steinberge mountains in harmony with the gently rolling Grasberge mountains are the magnificent backdrop to a dream vacation. In winter, access to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn ski area is right on the doorstep and in summer, a hiking paradise and an Eldorado for bikers beckon.
The Naturhotel Forsthofgut offers 96 rooms and suites: Decorated with warm colors and stylish designs, the rooms inspire with sophisticated furnishings and natural materials from the region. The highlight is the luxury chalet suite Landleben: At 145 m2, the largest suite in the hotel offers its own Finnish sauna with mountain views, 2 master bedrooms, its own roof terrace and an open fireplace. When designing the suite, a conscious decision was made to use local materials such as loden or old wood from the hotel's own forests. At the latest when the open fire warms up in the evening and the view opens up to the starry sky, a feeling of security sets in - just like at home. Since June of this year, 23 rooms in the main building have also been shining in new splendor: the finely renovated rooms entice with a charming rural flair that is more than open to modern luxury.
Europe's first waldSPA at the Naturhotel Forsthofgut is a place of tranquillity that pays tribute to the rich natural treasures of Salzburger Land: On 3,800 square meters, you return to the origin and approach nature in a particularly gentle and soothing way. The unique design concept is characterized by the four elements of fire, water, air and earth as well as the overarching theme of "forest". The adults-only wellness area impresses with a spacious sauna area, a 25 m sports pool with a spectacular roof terrace, a whirlpool facing the Steinberge mountains and stylish relaxation rooms with a view of nature. The waldWIRBEL family area features indoor and outdoor pools, adventure showers, a Kneipp mountain stream and spacious relaxation rooms. Sports enthusiasts can work out in the 300 m² fitness area on treadmills with a forest floor effect or on spinning bikes in the open air.
Following a major renovation in 2018, the now reopened Naturhotel Forsthofgut in Leogang has numerous highlights to offer: the centerpiece is undoubtedly the new ForsthofgutKÜCHE, a completely renewed food concept, which is divided into the three pleasure lines "Alpine", "Local" and "Vegan" and focuses on responsible enjoyment. In the style of a lively market, the new, packaging-free gourmet market focuses on the products and their quality at individual gourmet stations. The majority of these come from within a radius of 50 kilometers and from the hotel's own farm. While adults can look forward to a fabulous wine cellar, the weinWALD, the new bar and natural pharmacy "Botanist" and the "Beletage" - Adults-Only Lounge, the renovation also has some new features in store for the youngest guests, such as their own buffet in the enlarged Rocky's Kidsclub. The new Austrian restaurant 1617 and new rooms with a show kitchen for the award-winning restaurant "echt. gut essen." round off the culinary offering.
