FourElements - Living by Berger
A time-out in Styria: FourElements - Living by Berger. In the green heart of Austria, between the Gesäuse and Kalkalpen national parks, you will find an exclusive hideaway that blends modern luxury with almost untouched nature: FourElements - Living by Berger. Hermann Berger interprets the elements of fire, water, air and earth with four unique houses, nestled in an impressive natural setting above the mountain river Salza.
Luxurious chalets in a breathtaking location
Namesake and host Hermann Berger has created a very special place in Palfau that combines the four elements and offers luxury close to nature. He wants to bring this power place of his homeland closer to discerning guests and provide a unique vacation experience. Not only are the surroundings breathtakingly beautiful and wild, the architecturally exciting and very stylish chalets Air, Water, Kingfisher and Fire also seem to merge with nature. The special thing about it: the unique backdrop is enchanting at any time of year! The awakening of nature in spring, warm, long summer days, a blaze of color in autumn or a quiet, white winter landscape: each season exudes its own individual charm. In the chalets, guests experience nature in all its facets. What remains all year round is the Salza sparkling in shimmering shades of green at the foot of the 60-metre-deep gorge, above which the chalets are enthroned by air and water.
An Adults Only Hideaway
Peace and relaxation come first. The resort is the perfect place to take a break from everyday life and is designed for two guests per house. Those who vacation here want to focus on the essentials, relax, enjoy nature and simply get away from the stresses of everyday life. Guests aged 18 and over are welcome in the houses, and four-legged friends are also allowed in the "Water" and "Fire" houses. If you want to be active, there are plenty of opportunities in the nearby mountains: Mountain biking, hiking, skiing... Or the Salza, which lies at the foot of the gorge and offers something for every vacation need, from a relaxing day of swimming to a rafting adventure. On a warm summer's day, lie on the bank with a picnic basket, listen to the rippling of the river and jump into the crystal-clear water of the Salza to cool off. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?
Modern design meets the beauty of nature
In the chalets, the great attention to detail is immediately apparent: In the "Water" house, various shades of blue sparkle, matching the bubbling Salza below, while interior details in warm shades of red reflect the "Fire" house. Lots of wood and natural materials create a feel-good atmosphere in all the houses. The design is modern, but not too clean. Every detail has been thought through. As important as the "inside" is, the panorama is always the focus. Each of the chalets offers many different seating options to enjoy the surroundings and take in the tranquillity of nature. A cozy favorite spot in winter: the armchairs placed in front of the large windows, where those seeking relaxation can enjoy a cup of tea with a wow view. In summer, guests are drawn to the terrace hovering over the river. And when the sun shines on the tip of their noses, the birds chirp and the Salza rushes in the depths, everyday life seems far away. The only thing on the to-do list: Slow down and recharge your batteries.
Cook for yourself or let the private chef spoil you
The day at FourElements - Living by Berger starts with a hearty breakfast.
A breakfast basket filled with regional delicacies is waiting outside the chalet door at 8 a.m. on the dot. Herrmann and his team are always happy to accommodate individual requests. Amateur chefs can look forward to a perfectly equipped kitchen down to the last detail, where they can prepare dinner in the evening with a wonderful view from the panoramic windows. Prefer not to wield the wooden spoon yourself? No problem. There is a menu in the chalets from which guests can order multi-course menus or barbecue boxes from one of the partner restaurants. For a very special culinary experience, a private chef comes to the house to conjure up a delicious dinner. The motto here is: just sit back and enjoy.
Relax in the private spa
Of course, a luxurious break should not be complete without a wellness offer, which is why all four chalets are equipped with an exclusive spa. In Haus Wasser, a private elevator leads to the lower floor, where the wellness area is located. In the spa, guests can not only relax in a free-standing bathtub with a magnificent view, but also unwind on a large, cozy daybed or in the sauna with an unobstructed view of the forest and river. Another highlight is the outdoor area, where there is a hot tub and a seating area - naturally also with a view of the spectacular scenery. Haus Eisvogel is the only accommodation to offer a natural pool in addition to the sauna and hot tub. A unique feel-good place with maximum privacy.
