Prechtlgut Chalet Village

Arrive and unwind: Indulge in warm hospitality and an unparalleled vacation atmosphere at the Prechtlgut in Wagrain in the Pongau region of Salzburg.

A charming village in Wagrain, Salzburg. Admittedly, this compact village—spanning 9,000 square metres beside the Grafenbergbahn Wagrain cable car—comprises eight chalets that were meticulously crafted from the ground up rather than evolving over centuries, yet it nonetheless conveys the essence of “a vacation like in the old days—with today’s luxury.” What is decidedly more comfortable than in days gone by is the appointments of these luxurious homes. Materials—some up to 300 years old, such as reclaimed wood, natural stone, and fine linen fabrics—cultivate a relaxed vacation atmosphere. The interiors are flooded with natural light, with an open fireplace serving as the focal point; the Swiss stone pine kitchen is fully equipped; and a private alpine spa—featuring a sauna with steam and infrared functions, a freestanding relaxation tub, and a hot tub on the terrace—ensures profound relaxation. A cheerful swimming pond lies directly before the chalets. Each chalet can accommodate between two and eight guests, and discreet staff are on hand around the clock to attend to every need. In addition to the culinary possibilities in the “private” kitchen, guests may also enjoy an excellent meal at the Prechtlstadl. For a truly distinctive experience, reserve a “Hut” meal. The “Tartaren-Hut” on the table holds a hearty beef soup in its brim, and on its surface, each guest can cook meat and fish to their liking, crafting a custom menu. Fresh vegetables, crisp salads, and the alpine ambience complete this exquisite dining experience. A

Relaxation

The surrounding area offers a wealth of activities in both summer and winter. In addition to the amenities of the aforementioned natural swimming pond, guests can hike, bike, and play golf here during the warmer months. In winter, the nearby Grafenbergbahn provides direct access to the renowned Snow Space Salzburg, with nearly 210 kilometres of slopes and 70 ski lifts, while summer brings more than 230 kilometres of marked hiking trails that wind to sparkling mountain lakes and across verdant alpine meadows, in addition to three golf courses, numerous swimming pools and invigorating bike trails. After an invigorating day in the fresh air, guests will relish a convivial evening “at home” beside the fire all the more.

Anticipation will already be building for the following morning’s breakfast, served each day: fresh bread, rolls, and crispy buns from the local bakery, accompanied by muesli, jams, and honey; sausage, cheese, and ham; as well as fruit, milk, yogurt, eggs, coffee, and tea. All this while the fire crackles in the fireplace—there is simply no finer way to begin the day. Photos: Chaletdorf Prechtlgut
