DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort
1st place: Tradition with vision - THE EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort - a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection - shows how to move with the times without forgetting its roots.
Welcome
Moving with the times without forgetting our roots - that is the motto of hosts Peter and Karin Hettegger. With great attention to detail and mindfulness of the previous pioneering work, they have led the historic house directly at the Panoramabahn valley station in Grossarl into the future and created a destination in a class of its own. Guests immediately feel at home on arrival in the spacious lobby with Alpine lounge. Family, solidarity, trust and a love of the hotel industry have always played an important role at DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort. Last but not least, over 10 family members work in the active business. Members of the Hettegger family can be found in everything from reception and service to building services. Guests can feel this in all areas of the hotel.
Greatness is the name of the game
A generous, spacious room layout and large windows define the modern architecture of the house. Earthy tones and natural materials such as stone, glass and wood create a cozy, warm atmosphere;
The stylish rooms and suites in modern Alpine chic are furnished with box-spring beds and high-quality interiors with great attention to detail.
Relaxation realm
The 7,000 m² wellness area of the EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort, which extends over five floors, is particularly impressive. Separate water and wellness areas await families with children and adults only. The indoor aqua park with five water slides is spectacular! A sports pool, an infinity pool and an outdoor pool with brine water provide additional variety. Children can experience exciting adventures in the EDELWEISS children's world, where they can let off steam in four different areas covering over 1,000m².
Enjoyment area
The kitchen concept in the EDELWEISS Mountain Cuisine by head chef and family member Alexander Hettegger is characterized by culinary diversity and the use of regional products. In addition to the Alpinbar and the marketplace, a spacious buffet area, there is an in-house sushi bar where deliciously fresh creations are prepared daily. In addition, top chef Alexis from Laos delights guests with creative Far Eastern dishes as part of the Asian cuisine line Sakura.
Guests are also pampered at the highest level in the à la carte restaurant Hoamat 78 and in the steak restaurant Sirloin Grill & Dine , which has been awarded 2 toques. The wine bar Kork & Gloria in the style of a grocery store, a small grocer's store and a well-stocked wine archive complete the offer.
Out into nature
Right next to the resort is the panorama lift of the Grossarl - Dorfgastein ski area, which is popular with visitors all year round to conquer the steep ascent.
A special plus for winter sports enthusiasts is the high-tech ski depot, which provides individually heated lockers for dry and preheated ski equipment. EDELSPORTS Rental is available for those who don't want to take their ski equipment with them but want to rent it conveniently on site. High-quality skis, snowboards and the right equipment can be obtained there quickly and easily. Continue through the ski depot and then straight onto the slopes: Ski in - ski out as it should be. After an eventful day of skiing, a stop at the Skylounge Wolke 7, directly at the Kieserlbahn mountain station, is definitely worth a visit.
But DAS EDELWEISS also attracts visitors to the great outdoors in summer. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Grossarl Valley, numerous hiking trails can be explored right on the doorstep in the warmer seasons. For a little refreshment in between, there are 40 traditionally managed mountain huts where visitors can enjoy regional delicacies. It is not for nothing that the Grossarl Valley is affectionately known as the Valley of Alpine Pastures.
