Even though we were not able to hand out the Connoisseur Circle Hospitality Awards in eleven categories in person for the second time in a row, all the winners were still very happy to receive the trophies in the mail, as messages from all over the world demonstrate.
Just like in 2020, worldwide lockdowns and the cancellation of the ITB Travel Trade Show prevented us from celebrating the best hotels at the grand Connoisseur Circle Gala in Berlin last spring.
Since the winners couldn’t come to Berlin to collect their trophies, the trophies had to travel to the winners. The logistical efforts involved in mailing the trophies were extensive, as the glass awards— together with two bottles of Collery champagne—had to be shipped all over the world. Whether residing on Germany’s coasts, in Greece, Spain, or the Maldives—the winners were very happy to receive their prizes, as the photos show. Next year, we will definitely meet again in Berlin, which will be the best reward for all of us!
